Ares Maximus is an international company for responsible raw materials extraction that manages a state-licensed diamond concession in Angola. Our focus is on sustainable processes, clear structures and partnership-based cooperation with local authorities and communities.
The main „Satchifunga“ project is located in the province of Lunda Sul in eastern Angola - one of the most geologically significant diamond regions in Africa, characterised by the Lucapa and Kwango faults.
The focus is on alluvial diamond deposits.
The licence has been in place since 2020 and is regularly extended through active production.
All activities follow verified environmental studies:
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
- Environmental management plan (PGA)
- Waste management plan (PGR)
These documents ensure that interventions are minimised and landscapes are subsequently recultivated.
We focus on fair employment, transparent communication and social projects to strengthen the regional infrastructure.
The project follows international safety standards (OSHA 18001) and its own health and safety protocol, which monitors and documents all work processes.
Sediments close to the surface along the river terraces are removed, washed and sorted mineralogically. The method is efficient, comparatively gentle and easy to control.
Close partners include ENDIAMA, SODIAM, regional authorities and technical partners such as Tomra (sorting technology), beak.de (geology) and Xcalibur (geoscanning).
Creating value that goes beyond mere promotion: regional development, secure jobs, sustainable resource management and transparent value creation.
The licence area is located in Lunda Sul (East Angola) and comprises approx. 1,600 km²; it is connected to the national road EN170 crossed.
For Satchifunga there is a State mining licence (since 2020) as a basis for exploration and mining.
The roadmap includes. Prospecting → Exploration phase (start 2nd quarter 2025) with infrastructure construction, commissioning of the washing system and mass sampling.
The plans include base camp infrastructure (water, energy, logistics) and a car wash with DMS system and TOMRA XRT-sorting; commissioning is carried out with technology partners.
The project is subject to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the authorisation procedure according to Presidential Decree 117/20 on the basis of the Basic Environmental Law 05/98.
A Environmental management plan (PGA) controls measures for Biodiversity conservation (mapping of sensitive species, authorisations, protection and resettlement plans) in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment.
The Recultivation runs Parallel to operation and includes assessment, planning, restoration and Monitoring; It is legally protected by Law 5/98 and Presidential Decree 117/20 anchored.
The Waste management plan prioritised Avoidance, reuse, recycling as well as clear responsibilities and training; it follows Executive Decree 17/13 and Presidential Decree 190/12.
Ares Maximus is committed to Compliance with Angolan and international HSE standards, sets up a Accident Prevention Committee (CPAT) and sets Risk assessment, training, PPE/CPE and emergency plans.
In addition to EIA/PGA/PGR/PRAD are social projects and safety/health programmes are an integral part of project planning; effects on infrastructure, the population and the environment are systematically described and monitored.
